Case Presentation: In January 2024, a 3-year-old Hound Mix dog presented with an erythematous and alopecic skin lesion on the carpal joint of the left front limb. The lesion was diagnosed as an acral lick dermatitis, and the patient received 12 rounds of laser therapy treatments. A follow-up visit on February 23, 2024, showed minimal improvement of the skin lesion. 1.0 cc of AlphaFlo® was then implanted subcutaneously around the margin of the lesion at the discretion of the veterinarian.
On March 8, 2024, two weeks after the AlphaFlo® implantation, the skin lesion had reduced in size with resolving erythema. The owner reported satisfaction with the improvement.
On April 27, 2024, two months following the AlphaFlo® implantation, the acral lick dermatitis was resolved, and hair had grown back.
