On September 20, 2021, a 5-year-old, male English Pointer presented with soft tissue swelling with heat noted on point of right hock. The patient was 2/5 lame with some abnormal foot placement with right hind foot. Patient was treated with Low Level Laser Therapy and Ligaplex® oral supplement (Standard Process). On October 4, 2021, ultrasound of calcanean tendon showed two core lesions in the tendon. Patient was injected with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) at the clinic. A follow up November 4, 2021, showed no significant change of the core lesions. 1.0 cc of Alpha-Flo® was then implanted at the discretion of the veterinarian into the calcaneal tendon lesions under ultrasound guidance.

On December 4, 2021, one month following the AlphaFlo® implantation, the attending veterinarian observed a significant improvement under ultrasound.

On January 3, 2022, two months following the AlphaFlo® implantation, filling of hyperechoic lesions was observed and patient was 95% sound.
