CASE STUDY: Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy

14 Client-owned dogs with naturally occurring rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament underwent Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO), performed by Mark Besancon, DVM.

Of the 14 dogs, 7 received 1.0 cc of AlphaFlo® intra-articular after closing of the arthrotomy at the vet’s discretion and 7 did not receive AlphaFlo®.

Dr. Besancon reported that surgery patients that received AlphaFlo® returned to use of the leg within 2 days on average compared to 19 days without AlphaFlo®, and that these patients returned quicker to function, had improved soft tissue healing, reduced swelling, radiographic changes noted sooner, and reduced pain.
